Roll up, roll up… The Summer edition (#38 at the last count) of Suit Yourself Magazine is now out, ladies and gents, so take a gander, tickle your eyes, feed your mind and fill your soul.  Nice.  I have another snap wedged between the gaps again, taken in Stokes Croft, Bristol, captured in the breaths taken between wrestling a drunk to the ground and hopscotching around some doggy doings.  Not so nice…

Please please please can I have the front cover of Suit Yourself Magazine?!!  The big cheese in the sky, he say yes.  Oh goody.  So here are some snaps that will be popping up in the Spring Edition 2010 of blessed SY.

A recent illustration for Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.  I love doing these things.  The brief was orientated around an upcoming issue’s article about the whys and wherefores of setting up a craft blog.  Although there is always a set brief I can let my imagination flow and I like to create in a sub-plot to run alongside the main subject.  In this case the computer mouse is the object of affection for the house mice.  Who knew mice could be so lusty!

Does your old mum need cheering up?  Perhaps your granny has fallen out with your grandad?  Maybe your sister is stressed out from her horrible job?  There, there, no need to worry.  Why not be a dear and cheer them up by giving them a homemade card?  Nothing says you care more than a gift you have spent the time to make yourself, (even if you’re not very good with scissors).

So, hurrah! cardmakingandpapercraft.com is giving away free crafting papers, including some of my very own designs with an Easter theme (issue 64).  Hop to it, sort it out and put a smile on your miserable family’s faces.  Awww, you’re the best.

In the way that I used to look forward to Christmas as a child, I now look forward to the Bristol Zombie Walk with the same wide-eyed wonder, although it has to be said with a wilder look in my eyes than my parents were used to seeing.

Yes, it’s THAT time of the year again.  If you live in Bristol you will understand… Sometimes it really is wiser to stay indoors.

Just how many zombies made up the hoard this year?  I can’t count that far.  Just how many vitamin water bottles were emptied then trodden on?  Who knows.   And how many shop windows, cars and the vulnerable living now need a good wipe down after a bloody mauling?  Plenty!   There were A LOT of zombies in Bristol today.  If you were about town between 3:3o and 5:00pm you will have been more than aware of just how many creepy, foul-smelling, moaning undead hoodlums were lurking around every corner, ready to gobble up your brain.  From the casual ‘just nipped down to Tesco Express and got bitten by a cashier’ zombie, to the ‘I was minding my own business spreading my weight around my coffin and I fancied a change of scene’ zombie, to ‘I had some blood left over from last year, so why not hobble along’ zombie, they were all there in their sunday best.  Notable zombies this year included my pal Anna, who came as a  beautiful blue bride accompanied by her puke-stained boyf, Neil; Uma Thurman from Kill Bill in a yellow one-piece suit, who took to chanting ‘Bill’ rather than ‘brains’; a very clever, ‘Where’s Wally’ zombie, who seemed surprisingly shy and lost; and some nazi zombies, who of course stood out like a sore manky thumb.  Blood curdling stuff!  They probably didn’t make many friends, but who wants a zombie for a pal anyway.  No use for owt.

The zombies enjoyed themselves immensely, and were generally on their best behaviour, and most of the public victims either looked on (like zombies) or took photos and appreciated the attention.  Unfortunately a sapling tree lost a brown leaf, a dog got freaked out and a little girl ran to her mammy, but that’s life, eh?  Or not, as the case may be.

Mwaaaaahahahahahahaha!!!  If only Christmas was this cheap and as much fun..
